Mindfulness-Based Digital Balance

FREE 3 DAY BOOTCAMP

Bring a simple mindfulness practice to your home to help prevent negative effects of digital technology.

What we’re really doing, is asking people, across all different areas of society, culture, class, gender, age – to make a commitment to maintaining their humanity in the midst of ever-encroaching mechanical technologies that might otherwise distract us into automation and ambivalence.
— Erin & Sherri

Living in a fast-paced, highly connected digital society has powerful impacts on human development, interactions, and individual well-being.

We believe that promoting mindful behavior in these digital spheres can have positive affects on the health and well-being of both individuals and the societies that we live in. There is an art to living in a digital world, where we can stay connected and inspired, yet remain balanced, mindful, and present in our lives.

DIGITAL MINDFULNESS is an emerging field of inquiry and practice that integrates our technology habits with our contemplative practice.

It means using mindfulness practice as a tool to personally establish a more balanced relationship with digital devices.

Digital Mindfulness:

  • Explores important components of mindful behavior, awareness, and engaging communications.

  • The slowing down and pausing long enough to assess our relationship with technology. With presence comes awareness and insight into our relationship with technology with the technology and how it affects our lives.

  • Explores digital tools, how they are used, and encourage us to develop intentions. It proposed innovation in the digital world to create more opportunities to live online, and offline, in balanced and meaningful ways.

  • Reshapes the conversation in our homes, schools, and communities about what it means to be a digital citizen in today's rapidly changing technological world and why that is vitally important. ~ Co-founder, Sherri Henderson

Children are naturally mindful beings. Providing them with the time, space and support to practice can be a tremendous gift.

As a meditation instructor, professor of mindfulness studies, and mother of four, I’ve done my research.

Raising children in this highly digital culture can be challenging. Worrying about the negative effects can be overwhelming with unclear solutions. But there are simple tools you can use at home to help ensure well-being.

I created the program, Mindfulness-Based Digital Balance, to offer families a natural and effective pathway to navigate the difficult terrain of social media and digital addiction. Bringing a mindfulness into our homes works to create natural boundaries with technology and build healthy behaviors.

Your Instructor:

Erin Sheehan has taught adults in clinical and professional settings for a decade, worked with families and schools, and researched the way mindfulness impacts our brains, our behaviors and our overall well-being.
